Installing the Leafy Warbler behind the instrument cluster

Step 1

First ensure the car is safely parked, then unplug the vehicle charger and 12V battery.

Using a plastic pry tool, partially remove the dashboard side trim.

Step 2

Pull the lower and upper driver-side air vents directly outwards.

Note: the front of the lower vent is held on with plastic clips which may come undone. Reseat those clips before replacing.

Step 3

Pull the central dashboard trim directly outwards to clear some space next to the instrument cluster.

This trim does not need to be completely removed, just pulled out an inch or so as shown.

Step 4

Adjust the steering wheel & stalks all the way down to make room, then pull the instrument cluster trim a short distance outwards.

Unplug the trip reset cable before fully removing the instrument cluster trim.

Step 5

Undo the 3 phillips-head screws securing the instrument cluster

Step 6

Carefully lift the instrument cluster up and out, unplugging both cables from the back before removing completely.

Step 7

The VSP is located at the top-right, with a single cable attached to its right side.

Unplug the VSP and plug the cable into your Leafy Warbler instead. Secure the Leafy Warbler in place with automotive tape or a zip tie.

Follow the above steps in reverse to reassemble the dashboard and complete your installation.
